Benihime – Kisuke Urahara’s Shikai, Anime-Inspired Sword

Kisuke Urahara is one of the key supporting characters in Bleach, Tite Kubo’s manga and anime about teenager Ichigo Kurosaki, who takes on the powers of a Soul Reaper. Urahara is the former captain of the 12th Division and the founder and 1st president of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute.

His zanpakutō is called Benihime – the “Crimson Princess” – which he jokingly describes as “not nice”. It is one of the few known zanpakutō with a female spirit belonging to a male Shinigami. This anime-inspired Benihime is available now at blacksmithuk.co.uk, recreated with careful detailing to look just like the sword from the series.
