Gothic Two-Handed Longsword
Inspired by the Oakeshott type XVIIIb swords of the late Middle Ages, this longsword is modelled on an original in the Swiss National Museum (Landesmuseum) in Zurich – a superb blend of historical authenticity and handling.
Swords of this type were made for fighting in armour and for duelling, combining strong thrusting points with real cutting power.
- Blade: Forged from 5160 high-carbon steel with a hollow-ground diamond cross-section.
- Hilt: A hexagonal guard and fishtail pommel for excellent balance.
- Grip: A long 9 1/4-inch two-handed grip.
Light, balanced and responsive for its size, it is a favourite with our team. Whether for re-enactment or as a centrepiece, it is an heirloom-quality tribute to late medieval craftsmanship. Please handle and store responsibly.
