About the Gold-Plated Gimli Battle Axe

Like so many of his kin, Gimli, son of Glóin, prefers the axe above all other weapons. He accompanies his father to the Council of Elrond at Rivendell and is chosen to stand for the Dwarves in the Fellowship of the Ring. When the Fellowship is broken, he fights bravely beside Legolas and Aragorn, from Helm’s Deep to the Black Gate of Mordor, and his sheer determination makes him invaluable to the company.

Deep in Moria, after a cave troll wrecks the tomb of his kinsman Balin, Gimli takes up the great two-handed battle axe that once belonged to the Dwarf-lord. It becomes his go-to weapon for close fighting. Always prepared, he carries it along with his walking axe, bearded axe and two throwing axes, and its broad double head can be swung either way – perfect for quick, brutal combat.
